This funny duck was in a crew of 20 that seems to have been adopted by a mobile home park in Sarasota. They wandered with no boundaries eating bugs mosquitoes, ticks and anything else that crawls. I want one but I don’t think they could handle the coyotes in Connecticut.

Sandhill Cranes were extirpated (I had to look it up) east of the Mississippi. Now they’re back big time. In Sarasota they even have their own neighborhood named after them. The thing I can’t get over is they love to stand out by large paved roads and look totally magnificent. Personally I prefer the beach but each to his own.
I enjoyed learning about extirpation.
